Heat - 3rd Graders

🔥 Windsor Heat U8 – 3rd Grade Team

Our Windsor Heat U8 (3rd Grade) team is designed specifically for our 3rd-grade athletes who are ready to grow their game and prepare for the next level of competition.

This league begins with a coach-pitch format to build confidence, consistency, and fundamentals — and then progresses into player-pitch games as the season develops. This gradual transition allows our girls to gain experience, learn the rhythm of live pitching, and build the skills they’ll need heading into their first U10 season.

These players will also participate in one to two tournaments this season. We currently have two tournaments scheduled (May 8-10 and July 17-19); your player may play in one or both, depending on registration numbers. An additional tournament may be added so that all players can participate in 2 tournaments.

This program is the perfect bridge between introductory softball and competitive player-pitch — helping our athletes feel prepared, confident, and excited for what’s next.

Ages

Players must be under 8 or under as of 8/31/2025 for this spring 2026 season and in 3rd Grade.

When

Season begins with evaluations in March/April and runs until end of July.

Please note evaluations for the 2027 season will be held at the end of the 2026 season in August/September.

Where

Practices are held locally in DeForest/Windsor with games being held at nearby communities.

Practices

Teams practice 2 times per week during the preseason, adjusting to 1 practice per week during the season.

Games

Teams will typically play 2 games per week on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Jerseys

All players will be equipped with two jerseys, one pair of pants, one pair of socks, and a belt.

Players are required to provide their own facemask and helmet with a face guard.

TOURNAMENTS

Our goal this year is to offer each player one to two tournaments a season. This year we have 2 tournaments scheduled for this age group, based on total players registered, your player may play in both or one of the following tournaments.

May 5-8 - Janesville

July 17-19 - Stoughton
